Asparagopsis oil products are of interest due to the stabilizing effects Asparagopsis-derived antimethanogenic bioactive compound bromoform (CHBr3). The objective this in vitro series is characterize efficacy freeze-dried (FD-Asp) and (Asp-Oil) compare relative response over time at multiple levels CHBr3 delivery. Relative methane (CH4) emissions (mL/g) based on apparent feed digested dry matter (IVDDM) after 24, 48, 72 h fermentation. contained FD-Asp was included 95, 191, 286 mg/kg, Asp-Oil 78, 117, 175 produce Low, Mid, High inclusions, respectively. Low had no significant impact CH4 emissions, Mid demonstrated 91%, 44%, 37% reductions, complete inhibition CH4, fermentation, Comparatively, a 46%, 28%, 18% reduction, resulted 99%, 92%, 73% IVDDM total volatile fatty acid (tVFA) production were not changed by inclusion Asp-Oil. results from study show that only compelling mitigating supplement but also able be delivered edible forms which will strengthen its applicability on-farm use. This promising for utility Asp-Oil, vivo trials essential demonstrate extent ruminant animals because has consistently greater compared vitro.
